Impossible Dream returns to Grove home base
Impossible Dream will return to her dock in Coconut Grove today, October 22, at 12:30 pm after completing a 4,000-mile voyage from Miami to Maine, stopping in 24 ports of call and taking out close to 1,000 people with disabilities and their families along.
Impossible Dream is a 60-foot wheelchair accessible catamaran sailboat that has been sailing the East Coast of the United States offering sails to people with disabilities. Since June, she has been working her way northward from Miami and visited Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and Maine, among other ports.
Her home port is Shake-a-Leg Miami in Coconut Grove. When not sailing the coastline, she complements the programs of Shake a Leg Miami, a community water sports and boating center providing programs for people with disabilities and the general public for more than 25 years.
Shake-A-Leg is at 2620 S. Bayshore Drive.
