Explore the Underline and the Commodore Trail

Bike Coconut Grove is partnering with the Underline Cycling Club and Dade Heritage Trust to sponsor a bike tour of the Underline, Coconut Grove, and the Commodore Trail. This family-friendly ride, about 10 miles long with several stops along the way, will begin at Dade Heritage Trust, 190 SE 12th Terrace (corner of Brickell Bay Drive). 

The event is on Sunday, September 9, beginning at 9:30 am.

They'll ride the Underline to Vizcaya, then explore parts  of the Commodore Trail, try out the brand-new bike lanes on Bird Avenue in Coconut Grove, wind through the South Grove, and stop for complimentary refreshments at the Bookstore and Kitchen in Center Grove. 

"Those who want to complete the loop can continue back to the starting point," says Hank Sanchez-Resnik, Executive Director of Bike Coconut Grove. 

"In addition to highlighting the Underline and key historic points on the route, the ride will raise awareness about the need to upgrade and complete the long-neglected Commodore Trail. In many places it's a trail in name only. Bike Coconut Grove has initiated Friends of the Commodore Trail, a project to improve and enhance this five-mile-long potential recreational jewel for all Miamians. Most of the trail is in Coconut Grove," says Hank.
