Helping Shake-A-Leg
Floridians, and especially those of us in the Coconut Grove area, remember last September’s visit from Hurricane Irma. Our neighbors at Shake-A-Leg Miami received a devastating left hook-uppercut that day, losing the main dock and most of the sailboats designed for disabled children and adults.
The non-profit has been able to function using a temporary dock and repaired boats, but the main dock construction is taking a long time due to delays caused by funding needs and red tape.
Shake-A-Leg needs support, financially and through volunteers, to expand its programs for disabled children and veterans. For more information on how to help, visit www.shakealegmiami.org.
