Bike Coconut Grove events
Sunday, April 29: Earth Day at the Barnacle, 11 am-4 pm. They'll be offering bike decorating for the kids, a bike parade, and free pedal-powered smoothies, in addition to all the other events the Barnacle has in store. More info on the Barnacle event here.
Saturday, May 5, 10 am., a walk through Center Grove titled "What is the Grove becoming?" This is part of the worldwide event to honor the legacy of Jane Jacobs, author of The Death and Life of American Cities. Jacobs was an originator of the walkable cities movement. Meet at 10 am in front of Cocowalk. They'll end with free coffee and refreshments, including ten free copies of Jacobs' book. Registration required. Click here for free tickets.
Saturday, May 12, 10 am: Commodore Trail Bike Ride. A family-friendly bike ride on the Commodore Trail through Center Grove (about 2 miles) led by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez. The ride will begin in front of Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, and end with a free picnic at the Barnacle. All free tickets for the picnic have been taken, but you can register for the waiting list here. The bike ride is open to everyone.
