'Steam Colors' coming to KROMA

Rivet Nation and KROMA will present the collective exhibit “Steam Colors” with the
works of over 20 local and out of state artists. There will be an Opening Reception on Thursday, March 22 from 6-9 pm. at KROMA Gallery located at 3670 Grand Avenue.

“Steam Colors”’ is a uniquely intriguing show which not only features thought provoking art, but also invites the viewer to delve deeper into the fascinating world of Steampunk, social issues and alternative history.

The show encompasses the theme of inclusivity and diversity in the Steampunk genre as interpreted by artists reflecting a multiplicity of cultures and lifestyles. This theme is represented by an eclectic selection of both visual and performance art, which will offer the viewer an immersive and participatory experience.

A collection of art and artifacts belonging to preservationist Alan Laird from the historic Pullman Porter era of train travel will transport viewers from the past into the future using augmented reality technology in true Time Traveler fashion.

The show runs at KROMA from March 22 - April 19, and it is free to the public

“Steam Colors” is an offshoot exhibition of Rivet Nation’s signature event, RAIL, Steampunk Under the Sea, which will take place on April 21 at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in South Dade.

Rivet Nation is a creative enterprise dedicated to planning and producing multi-disciplinary Steampunk themed events and exhibits and has been “Bringing Steampunk to Miami since 2016."
