Local students march for change

On Wednesday morning, a bunch of local high school students from Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart marched along with Commissioner Ken Russell through the Grove as part of a Day of Protest, a National Walkout, which is going on all around the county. They marched and chanted, "Protect children, not guns."

These high school students are fighting for their lives. They are making a change. They have a voice. These students are asking for help.

I know people who want them to sit down and shut up, but these kids are the future. Many are going to be voting in the mid-term elections this year. They are voting for their future and literally their lives. They are scared to go to school. Were you scared to go to school when you were in high school?

They are making changes and it's starting now. I applaud them and I respect them.

Thanks, Tom. Miami Dade County schools should offer early retirement incentives for administration and hire unarmed personnel.
The chain link fences on the playground at CGE are unsightly, btw. Tear them down.
