Should Monty's lease be extended?
Their agreement with the city runs out in 2035, but the current owners need more time to make back the money they are putting not only into the docks, but also the restaurant itself.
There will be a question on the November 7 ballot regarding Monty's. Should the owners, Allied Bayshore Marina get a lease that with extensions, give them 52 more years after their current lease is up in 2035?
If voters vote "no," then it reverts back to the city. Is this a good idea? The city knows nothing about running a restaurant. And Monty's is one of the only last remaining original Coconut Grove businesses theses days. Is it worth keeping this part of history?
The food stinks, but they did change up the menu and have fresher food and drinks. So other than the food, what other reason would we vote "yes" or "no"? To extend the current lease?
The Herald explains it a bit better than I did, here.

We need to support Hevia... is this not the type of development we want in Coconut Grove. Simple, classic and fits right into the environment. I hope that we can get as many fired up about a "yes" vote as we seem to get fired up about a "no" vote.
Let's go Coconut Grove... this guy is willing to invest and take the risk keeping Coconut Grove in style.
