Murder, lust, greed, and a good cup of tea

Miami International Science Fiction Film Festival and Rivet Nation are presenting the film, Fitzroy, at Kroma gallery on Friday, October 13, at 8:30 pm.

This black comedy is set in a post-apocalyptic 1950’s, the world is covered in a poisonous gas and the Fitzroy Hotel (a beached submarine) is the last place for a traditional holiday.

Bernard, the hotel’s bellboy, cook, maintenance man and general dogsbody faces a constant battle to keep the decaying hotel airtight and afloat. But when he falls in love with the scheming femme-fatal Sonya, he is thrown into a web of lies, backstabbing, and chaos.

The hotel is sent into chaos when one of the guests murders the hotel’s owner. It is left to Bernard, The Fitzroy’s hapless bellboy, to keep the hotel from falling apart as he struggles to hide the murders from the other guests and the ever-suspicious authorities.

As his world implodes, Bernard must choose between the woman he thinks he loves and the hotel submarine keeping them all alive.

If you watch Eastenders or some BBC programs, you will be familiar with the cast.
