Ice, Ice, Baby

Commissioner Ken Russell has been all over since Hurricane Irma passed, he's been doing great things for the community. On Tuesday, he held a free cookout in Village West. He found out about a restaurant which had to dump $50,000 worth of food and stepped in, bringing steak and lobster to everyone for free at the cook-out. Here he is at City Hall with a truck full of ice, which he is distributing to Village West.
Madelin Pacheco, BID director helped Ken out.
City Hall is still without power, but they are running on generators.

As for the ice, some folks in Center Grove are asking that ice be dropped off to them, too  Milam's is open and some restaurants and businesses are open. Still I have some friends who have been everywhere and they cannot find ice. Folks at Yacht Harbor are dying as much as those in the Village West.

So some ice to Center Grove might be a good idea, too!

The Coconut Grove NET office was driving around the Center Grove yesterday in a pick-up truck handing out bags of ice and cases of water. I caught them on Day Avenue, just east of 32nd.
