Tree hacking continues

So this was the scene at Jaguar restaurant early today, Monday, August 14. I guess the claim that all things would be stopped and discussed was a lie from our government.

To be honest, I understand what they are doing and this has been the plan for a long time, but either Friday or over the weekend, we were told that the Grand Avenue project would be halted and discussed. Guess not. Hope that's not the case with the Loquat project.

Unfortunately those trees have to go and be replaced with younger ones. The sidewalks can not survive the roots and people may be injured.

The sidewalks and the oaks can cohabitate. Other cities use root pruning and appropriate amounts of cement border with admittedly more maintenance. Miami would rather take it's unskilled labor and the cheap route. Tear it down, put up something that costs nothing until generations from now. Hmmm, that sounds VERY familiar.

Does anyone have latest update on the tree cutting? Have they reconsidered how many old trees they will destroy? The removal needs to stop. There are multiple ways to save these magnificent trees while maintaining safe pedestrian walkways.
