More changes in Center Grove
The building is being re-furbished and new tenants (or maybe just one) will take over the space. It's been in the works for a few years now and the leases were the hold-up. For now, there is no talk of building up, but I believe that is only a matter of time. Once the hotel goes up over the Engle Building across the street, could the build-up of this building be far behind?
But once new tenants are in, would it be possible to build up? Also, I am told that the building is historic in some way, either the street or the building, so a build-up may not be possible.
Stay tuned.

How about a "build over". preserves the historic building, but uses the air rights.
Building not historic. If you build up you need to bring to Miami 21 code. That means 20' setbacks. That will kill the building size due to the corner aspect of the building. I wish you did more research before posting rumors.
I wish you would understand that Miami21 laws have been broken every day in Coconut Grove.
PS. Look at the Engle Building. They managed to get around Miami 21 with the new hotel going up above it.
