Updates on some Coconut Grove projects

Platform 3750 is a new Cornerstone Group proposed property for US1 and 37th Avenue. I guess the name platform refers to Metrorail. The project includes 192 apartments and over 30,000 square feet of office space. There will also be over 20,000 square feet of retail and 403 parking spaces. The exact address is 3750 South Dixie Highway.

Miami's Urban Development Review Board (UDRB) will review the project in November. These are two renderings.

You should start seeing the scaffolding go up around CocoWalk this summer so they can start their office building and the Oak Street Garage will turn into an office building which work commencing on August 1. The name will be changed from Oak Street Garage to Mary Street Office Building. The website is here, the rendering almost makes Coconut Grove look like New York City.

Also the Grove Harbour project at the Scotty's Landing site is scheduled to start in July.

The aesthetics of this project appear to me to be stylistically derived from a kind of bland South Beach DECO Apartment style raher than taking it's stylistic cues from the uniqueness of Coconut Grove..Both or either New and Old. Additionaly the Landscaping , which is so dear to the people of the Grove seems to be an after thought in these renderings..I would hope that the building would be a better fit for it's location.
