Change of Grove police officers

Officer Maguffey
Officer Shane Maguffey has served the Miami Police Department for nearly 24 years and has spent the last four years as one of Coconut Grove's Neighborhood Resource Officers (NRO). This past Friday he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is assigned to supervisory training for a few weeks.

This weekend a few new officers will be assigned to Coconut Grove. Commander Mike Gonzalez will be meeting with all of them and providing them with expectations as well as information relative to the community. "I will also be diligently searching for a replacement for Sgt. Maguffy during the next few weeks," says the Commander.

"We still have many experienced Coconut Grove officers, including our other NRO Officer David Valentin continuing to serve the Grove. We will be continuing our progress to reduce crime, control traffic, and make the Grove a safe place to live, work and play," says Commander Gonzalez.
