15th annual Young Artists Show at Woman's Club

The Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove is hosting the 15th Annual (YAG) on Saturday, March 11, from 2 to 4 pm. YAG is a juried art show and sale for Dade County Public School Students.  The day will offer a reception and award ceremony.  This year the honorary Judges selected are Barbara Burnstine and Phillip Michaels. There will be $7,500 awarded in college Scholarships to top four recipients and ten students will receive certificates of distinction and $50 awards and their teachers will each receive a $50 honorarium.

Barbara holds a BA Degree from the University of Amherst MA, and studied Ceramic Art Studies at FIU form 1984-2004. She is a Juried Member of the Ceramic League of Miami from 1975 to the present. You can see her work at her studio in Little Havana where she has been since 1998.
Phillip Michaels was born and raised in Chicago. He did some course work at Stony Brook University and then Florence University of the Arts in Italy. He received his BFA from Hunter College. He lives and works between The Hamptons and South Florida and has a studio in the trendy arts district of Wynwood.

This event is made possible with funding provided by the Korth Family Foundation, The Coconut Grove Bank, Anthony Pippo Family, Mokher Plumbing, Beryl Taylor, Judy Orr members and friends of the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove.   Hors d'oeuvres and cake will be served in honor of the Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove. 
Doors open at 2 pm. This event runs throughout the weekend is FREE and open to the public. 

The Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove was founded in 1891 and is a nonprofit charitable organization. The Woman’s Club of Coconut Grove is located at 2985 South Bayshore Drive.  All contributions are tax deductible.
