Running away from the madding crowd
But when you think about it, Coconut Grove has been one huge construction zone for years. You can't really get from here to there without some sort of delay and you can't really avoid noisy construction from North to South Grove. If it's not big white boxy houses invading the neighborhood, it's condos going up for years on end. And how about 27th Avenue? That was a never-ending project which separated North and South Grove for a long time.
And even today, and for the past year, if you try to drive down Tigertail, you are more likely than not to be stopped by construction workers to allow for cement trucks and other big trucks in and out of the bank lot project. On South Bayshore Drive for the longest time there were delays for the same reason. Even on a Saturday morning, I would sometimes be delayed as 40 cement trucks made their way to and from the project site.
Up and down South Bayshore in the North Grove, construction projects block the main street.
We live in a non-stop construction zone.

Tom...all we hear out of you is how greedy developers are ruining the Grove. I've been living in the Grove since 1994 - 22 years. At that time, the Grove was competing with South Beach as one of the only two places to go out and it was packed with the College crowd. As other areas opened up, the Grove slowly went into decline until there were only a handful of restaurants and stores successfully operating. Now we are on the upswing with new construction, new restaurants, new stores, new people...and with it, constant complaints from yourself. So I ask you.....what are you looking for? Did you actually prefer the Grove when it was a ghost town or did you like the Grove when it was a college hang-out because as you state you have been living in the Grove for 15 years and you weren't here for the "Hippy Years". I've seen this question asked of you may times in the comment section whenever you go on one of your rants and never seen any response back from you. What exactly are you pining for?

Hank, I think Tom has been part of Grove since his younger years.
All these boomers do nothing but complain about the building in The Grove, right up until they sell their house to a developer for 50% more than it's really worth.
Miami real estate crash is under way if you have not noticed.
Right on Hank. Progress is always good. Keep it coming.
