New at Choices Cafe - Open Mic Night
Every Saturday night Glenn Allen will be hosting an open mic night from 7 to 9 pm at Choices Cafe at their new location in Coconut Grove.
"Acoustic music and spoken word is the focus," says Allen.
Choices is a vegan restaurant that serves beer and wine as well. They now have several locations in Miami.Their business is founded on the principle that better eating leads to healthier individuals and an improved society.
The Grove location at 2895 MacFarlane Road has indoor as well as outdoor seating.
Glenn says Weather permitting he will be setting up outside. "I moved to South Florida to study film and music at the University of Miami and fell in love with the Grove," he says, he's a long time fixture on the local music scene, he also has been active in the South Florida Vegan/Vegetarian Community.
"I've been part of Earth Save Miami for the last 20 years. They educate people how the choices they make in what they eat affects not only their own health but the health of the planet. I like their message which is about encouraging people to elect to reduce or eliminate animal products from their diet. Even small changes can make a big difference. We live in a time where the practices of factory farming are causing ecological devastation. That's why it's more important than ever that people understand the cause and effect relation of what they eat.
