Natalia Zea to speak at Rotary luncheon

The guest speaker at the Coconut Grove Rotary Club luncheon on Thursday, October 13, is Natalia Zea, Director of Community Outreach for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.


Natalia recently became the Director of Community Outreach, for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the fourth largest school district in the nation. In this position Natalia oversees district programs, including the internship program for juniors and seniors, and the Dade Partners program, which creates partnerships between businesses and other entities with Miami-Dade schools. She is also involved in district efforts to combat youth violence.

Prior to working for the MDCPS, Natalia was an investigative television news reporter/anchor for WFOR-TV CBS4 in Miami. She reported on various stories including public corruption, to abuse of power, and political scandals.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Natalia moved to the United States and graduated from the University of Colorado-Boulder with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a minor in Political Science. Natalia  has served as a Mentor for the non-profit organization "Educate Tomorrow" whose mission is to support foster youth in graduating from high school and entering college.  She will be speaking about the transition from news person to the public sector and projects MDCPS are currently developing.

Please Note - Parking is restricted at the Sailing Club to members only. Parking is available at St. Stephen's Church, the parking garage next to the Sonesta Hotel and the street fronting the Sailing Club, all close to the club.
