Grovite wins Design in Excellence Award

Grovite Kathy Kesler, president of Interspace Design Group in Miami, has won another Design in Excellence Award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) SFC.  Kathy received the award in the Hospitality category for her design of The Claremont Hotel in Miami Beach, shown here. 

The competition was open to any project in any city designed by a South Florida design professional. Judging criteria included design merit in scale and proportion, color composition, innovation, creative and functional use of space, effective use of lighting, appropriate solution of the design concept, and relationship of materials, textures and patterns.

“I am so honored to receive this prestigious award. The South Beach Art Deco Historic Hotels are so unique that it was very challenging to fit all requirements of the hotel brand and current-day guest preferences within a small footprint,” says Kathy.“This was accomplished by creating efficient space planning as well as extensive millwork and furnishing designs that maximized function and aesthetics.”
