Scholarships handed out at Gallery Walk event

There were so many people at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery on Saturday night, that it was almost claustrophobic, but I love to see so many people at an event. Aimee Perez was the featured artist this month, but the main crowds were there for the handing out of scholarships to students from various county schools. 12 graduating seniors each received $1000 each from the Arts Festival Gallery.

Gaea Garrity, David and Maria Freed.

At left: Daniela Reyes received a scholarship on Saturday, she plans to attend Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. At right, some students enjoy the food served at the event.

David Baptiste receives an award from Lilia Garcia; Diana Eusebio received an award, too.

Larry Feldman, Vice Chairman of the Miami-Dade School Board gives a scholarship to Nadia Wolff from Design & Architecture Senior High, she plans on attending the Art Institute of Chicago.

It was a fun night, lots of drinks, food and friends. The full list of scholarship recipients is here.
