South Grove street work starts Monday

A 75 day road repair project will start in the South Grove on Monday, April 4. On Monday, the work crew from H&J Asphalt will begin mobilizing equipment. The scheduled time frame could change due to weather and other circumstances.

Affected areas are bounded by Main Highway and LeJeune Road between Loquat Avenue and Kiaora Street, so it's the neighborhood in these parameters.

The scope of work includes asphalt and pavement restoration and reconstruction and pavement markings. Hours of work: 8 am to 5 pm. Lane closures may occur but road accessibility to local traffic will always remain open.

Is this a real map with Douglas Road being on both sides of Main Hwy? In any event if we're talking Main Highway in the Grove, South to U.S # 1, road construction might translate into improvements and new construction on Main Highway. Is something brewing?

My question is why are almost all road work being done during the day in Miami Dade County? We already have an awful traffic problem that makes driving the most challenging and time consuming event of our days. After 9PM and before 6am traffic is very light and workers can work in a cooler environment by more than 10 degrees. There is plenty of technology to light the work area and police can help safely guide traffic around work areas at night. I do appreciate work being done at last but most major cities do work after sundown to help public tend to their lives in day light.

It's not 2 maps spliced together. The map on the left should be on the right and vise versa. As explained by the powers that be, it's 2 maps next to each other. (I may be wrong, but I always thought that 42nd was to the west of 36th.}

@345:

Would you like to hear the sounds of construction equipment operating outside of your house all night long?

I't appears to me most work on all the major roads; I-95, airport expressway, Palmetto, etc is accomplished mostly at night, usually after about 10:00 PM to early A.M.. And the work crews can't keep folks up at night in communities with noise, noise, noise, but more so than noise, as in who cares at city hall, how do you get everyone to move their vehicles and if moved, moved to where? Overall it's a good system, repairing out infrastructure. In addition, I'm very impressed at how well coordinated the signage is that directs us all during construction. Great job whoever. When will the rest of the street in South Grove be repaved also? just west of Poincetta.
I have lived on Lybyer Avenure for 30 years and the roads have never been touched. Pot holes and uneven roads are now taking a real toll on our streets also.
Any bench mark to look for?
Thank you,
Linda Palewicz
