Vinos presents first class music and art

Vinos in the Grove was in full-tilt celebration mode. Downstairs, a packed room heard Damian J, on the saxophone, clarinet, and flute mix it up with keyboardist and DJ, Guti Talavera. We lucked out on timing and caught a great jazz set with these two very talented musicians.  Watching Damian J deftly play the wind instruments while Talavera created rappy electronic  sounds by occasionally twisting the vinyl records backwards while playing the LP's and simultaneously pouncing all over the keyboard with fingers flying was eye-popping and brought the room to applause.

Vino's second floor Red Room Art Gallery, was abuzz with art fans and boasted the works of Fernando Mora, Juan P. Vizcaino, Edgard Rodriguez Luggi and Bryan Alexander.  The group exhibit is called the TRIBE and features carved mask sculptures, photography, mixed media drawings and paintings.

The collection was eclectic and outstanding. Kudos to Vino's in the Grove for putting together this quality exhibit. Stop by Vino's this month to view TRIBE yourself.
