Changes at the triangle in the center of town

You've seen them in and out, working on the former Johnny Rockets space, no doubt and finally, Masa Taqueria is ready to open. New life on that corner is much needed. They should open in a week or so. They are basically done with renovations and just waiting for all the proper paperwork from the city.

With El Taquito, just across the way, many wonder if the two can co-exist. Probably, as El Taquito has their diehard fans and it's more of a take-out place, where Masa will have table service and a larger menu to choose from.

With the new Kit and Ace clothing store across the street in the Engle Building and Harry's Pizzeria and the new Pages bookstore, that area is finally filling in empty storefronts. Coldwell Banker will be moving to the Collection building in Coral Gables soon, at 4000 Ponce de Leon Blvd. They outgrew the current space. That space will be vacant for awhile, until something else moves in.

It seems like there is not going to be a full corner there at the triangle, where every storefront is operating. One is open, one is closed, two are open, one is closed. For so many years, the Coldwell Banker building was a branch of the Coconut Grove Bank, but most likely retail or another restaurant will take the space eventually.
