The Fall Thing; safe Halloween alternative for kids
Fall Thing is a safe alternative to Halloween. It will be held with a collaboration of Miami-Dade Boys and Girls Club in Coconut Grove. Elevate Miami Church volunteers have been doing it as a community outreach event for past three years, and the event has been growing bigger every year. Last year 1,450 kids and parents came to the event and they expect 1,600 people this year.
In previous years, the event was supported solely by church members' donations, but because of the growing size of the event, this year, they raised $2,500 from church members, $2,000 from corporate sponsors and $1,000 from District 2 Commissioner Sarnoff from his district budget.
"We give away tons of candies to kids, reusable bag give away and many inflatable rides, games, DJ, face painting, food trucks and lots more," says Jeanne Chan, local salon owner and volunteer.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade is located at 2805 SW 32 Avenue (right next to the pumpkin patch).

Do you mean District 2 Commissioner Sarnoff's district budget or War Chest?
No Anon 3:36, the article read "Sarnoff's district budget". Do you know something we don't and if so, what?
Seriously, parents, your children should be off the streets at a safe time to make room for party goers; there's room for everyone at different hours, be safe! Jobie Steppe
