New Chamber board elected at Sonesta luncheon

The Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce has new officers as of last week, they were voted on by the 15-member board of directors, and were presented at a luncheon on October 2, at the Sonesta Coconut Grove Hotel.

President Liliana Dones of Creative Tools begins a two-year term. This is the second time she will preside over the Chamber board, having previously served from 2007-2009. This is great, Liliana is good at getting the word out about Chamber events and involving everyone in the community, she's very creative regarding Chamber events. She'll bring some life into the group.

The officers, who will each serve a one-year term, are: Vice President - Tony Rodriguez of Prestige Realty Group; Secretary - Katrina Boler of The Barnacle Historic State Park; Treasurer – Ed Prelaz of Taylor-Mathis of Florida. Monty Trainer, President of Coconut Grove Arts Festival continues to serve as Officer-at-Large.

Outgoing President Peter Laird of Laird Creative, who completed a two-year term, will continue to serve on the board for the next two years as Immediate Past President.

Directors of the Coconut Grove Chamber are: Wilson Alvarez, of WelcomeToMiami.com; Susy Cropley of Sapient; Lilia Garcia of Dynamo Art Gallery and Coconut Grove Arts Festival Gallery; Mary Handel of HomeBenefit IQ; Kathy Kesler of Interspace Design Group; Sue McConnell  of Baskets by Sue McConnell; William Rivas of CocoWalk; Justin Rundle of Rundle Law Firm, and Rebecca Smith of Line Studio Realty.

All that’s missing is a police line-up background to help determine height and this photo could be titled “The Usual Suspects”.
