Waters Sports Happy Hour at Shake-A-Leg
The Happy Hour is intended to encourage Grovites to stop by and enjoy some of the activities that happen every day at SALM's Biscayne Bay harbor front facilities. Enjoy free Happy Hour sailing as a crew member on one of the 20 foot sailboats. And kayak and stand up paddle board rentals are half price, under $10.
Miami Kite boarding is presenting a film and explaining the exciting sport of kite boarding. And Shake-A-Leg is offering food, drink and live music by the Married Pirates band.
For 25 years, Shake-A-Leg has opened its facilities to persons of all abilities as a wellness and water sports center. Its emphasis is to use the marine environment to improve the health, education and
independence of people with disabilities, disadvantaged youth and their families. The days at Shake-A-Leg are filled with laughter, exploration, successes and accomplishments, no matter the abilities of the participants.
For Thursday's Water Sports Happy Hour the water sports activities - paddle boarding, kayaking and sailing - begin at 4:00 pm. Live music starts at 6 pm. The raffle will close the event at 8 pm.
Life vests are available for all water-based activities. The facilities are fully accessible.
