The KarKowska Sisters Duo concert is a special afternoon performance that will showcase both the piano and
violin virtuosos.
The concert will be held from 3 to 5
pm, Sunday, September 20 at the Miami Conservatory of Music at the Mayfair Promendae. Although tickets for the event are free,
donations are encouraged, with all the money collected benefiting the
Miami-based child abuse-prevention organization Children’s Survival Network.
The KarKowska Sisters Duo is an award
winning, internationally acclaimed ensemble that in addition to a recital and
chamber music repertoire performs extraordinary programs of virtuosity and
laughter, full of beautiful music, unforgettable stories and comedy.
Anna, virtuoso violinist, and Kasha,
concert pianist, graduated from the Julliard School of Music in New York City
and the Chopin Academy in Warsaw. The Duo has recorded for Polish, Mexican, and
American Television and Radio. They have also thrilled audiences at Carnegie
Hall in New York City, Olympia Theater at Gusman Center for the Performing Arts
in Miami, National Grand Theater in Warsaw and National Center for the Arts in
Mexico City.
Miami-based Children’s Survival Network’s mission is to prevent
child abuse. It partners with local communities to provide Child Abuse
Prevention programs and maintain an ongoing campaign of public awareness.
For Dr. Marc Greenfield, who heads
Children’s Survival Network, the event is a glorious opportunity to enjoy an
evening with some of the most exciting and vibrant music being played live. The
sisters are known for both their humor, love of life and exhilarating
performances.
“The KarKowska Sisters Duo will showcase
a wonderful afternoon of music that will lighten the soul, and lift hearts and
minds,” said Greenfield, President and Clinical Director of the Children’s
Survival Network. “We were fortunate to have the KarKowska Sisters Duo donate
their time, and we hope the community will come and support us as we continue
to work to prevent child abuse and help those affected by it.”
