Grove Pumpkin Patch will be back this October

Good news - the Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch will be back this year.  They hadn't presented their dates to the BID as of yet so there was concern, but according to Vanessa Goodis, Event Director, the dates are bit later this year and that's great as it's closer to Halloween. The Pumpkin Patch will be in Peacock Park on Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25 from 10 am to 6 pm both days.

You'll be able to pick your pumpkin from the 5000 in the patch and also decorate them under the big tent. There's a kiddie carnival with unlimited rides includes in the admission price. This actually makes it all worth while.

There is the usual cornstalk maze and a Hillbilly hay ride. The main stage has shows which are included in admission and you can enjoy the Scarecrow dress up and have professional photos taken. Also, a favorite of mine is the large selection of pumpkin-flavored goodies sold by the vendors. From pumpkin funnel cake to pumpkin crepes, pumpkin pie and even pumpkin shish kabob, there will be plenty to eat along with the usual fair food from gyros to sausages, etc.

1-day entrance fee is $10 for general admission, $15 for kids (2-10 years old), free for babies under 24 months. You can purchase tickets online here, or get them at the gate when you arrive.

I may go this year, but only because my son will be 16 months. Otherwise, no way. That's 35 for a family of 3 and only includes some rides? Most of which I'm sure a 2-5 year old won't even be able to ride.

Go out to the country and do a real version of this, not the dragged into the grove carni version.
