Ergon is coming!

No, it's not something from another planet, it's something from another country! Ergon is the new Greek restaurant coming to Coconut Grove. I spoke with owner, Kostas Grigoriou and he tells me they are hoping to open mid September. They are currently renovating the location at 2982 Grand Avenue, that nice location next to FedEx Kinkos, which was formerly Confucio Express and so many years ago, the Hagen Dazs.

They call themselves a Greek Deli and restaurant.

Their plans are to open daily from 11 am to 10 pm. They are quite authentic with seven locations in Greece. They also have locations in London and Brussels and while they are getting ready to open in the Grove, they are also getting ready for a new location in Weston. This is their lamb burger.

There is a big menu with pork chops and chicken drumsticks and lamb chops and sausags, swordfish, meat ball "soutzoukia", salds, pasta and seafood stew. Their brunch menu includes Muesli, yogurt, Bugatsa, eggs, coffee, etc. There is quinoa salad, Greek tomato salad and so much more. And as for the deli portion, you can purchase dips and spreads and everything basically to go.

You can get an idea by seeing their London menu here and their Brussels menu here.

I am really excited about Ergon's arrival. This is my kind of food.

Their succulent beef short rib dish straight from the kitchen...

This sounds great! Hopefully they can survive in that spot where others failed. Maybe the bid should setup a best practices and support system for new businesses in the area. Wasn't there supposed to be a Greek restaurant where Los ranches was in cocowalk? Hopefully they can survive where Acropolis (was that the name?) couldn't.

With so many restaurants and other businesses coming & going could this turn into a marketable concept complimenting fast paced change and diversity, i.e., never knowing what to expect in the never changing Grove experience, so come on into the Grove to find some new unknown experience in shopping and eateries?
