Blue Starlite is moving; but staying in the Grove

There's a great story in today's Herald about retro movies in South Florida. Our own retro drive-in the The Blue Starlite Mini Urban Drive-in was mentioned. This is a great Grove feature. If you haven't gone, it's worth the trip. It had been in the parking lot behind the Playhouse but in September, it is moving to Kennedy Park, which really will bring it out in the open and hopefully draw lots more people. Above is the actual snack bar, in the retro trailer.

They will be holding some sneak peek/soft opening screenings Sept. 9-12 featuring Grease (a sling along night), Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, Tron and the Atari documentary World 1-1.  The Wednesday, September 9 is a preview night and the opening weekend is Sept. 11 and 12. Their goal is to reinvent a classic American experience. And they do.

Other retro films will include The Goonies and Alice in Wonderland with an alternative soundtrack option using Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
