'Unseen Cuba'
Lithuanian Marius Jovaiša the photographer and publisher met with the Cuban government for five years, working out the logistics. While it looks like the photos were taken with a drone, he used an ultralite and flew over the places. Marius has to get special visas and work with the Cuban Air Force to get the job done.
You can see the book and video here along with Marius' story.
I found it interesting because I can just see our local developers and builder associations and all those other greedy people salivating over turning that pristine setting into shopping centers and hotels and condos. They destroyed our city, let's hope that doesn't happen to Cuba.
Speaking of stupid ideas. This is a rendition of that stupid thing developer Michael Simkins is asking the Miami City Commission to allow to be built in downtown Miami. He calls this piece of crap, "Innovation Tower." Terry Ferrer, a local artist did this rendition of what the tower will look like illuminated. It's literally a 633 foot billboard.

The 20 story billboards presently downtown are just too subtle. This is Miami after all.
A few years ago a convicted heroin dealer wanted to build that with support of the commissioner.
The 633' LED billboard tower is another "Sarnoff deal". It is located in District 2. Sarnoff has already taken money from the promoter. Sarnoff(s) get money from billboard companies and from the owners of billboard companies. Sarnoff is behind this.
I'm guessing the developer and his ridiculous "designer" and "PR Flacks" have cut a deal providing for Sarnoff's image - posing in tight spandex - to be forever included in the rotation of crappy ten-story ads flashing endlessly on the mega-billboard...
Terra Group has to invade Cuba now.
I wonder if all the Cubans that left Cuba to come here did it because of all the overdevelopment on the island. You sound like you're already nostalgic for the good old days in Cuba when the only ones having a good time were the party elite. Give me a break.
Beautiful!!!!!!! We can only wish
LED billboards are a sign that crass commercialism and corruption are ripe in a community. It is interesting that the promoter/developer of the proposed 63 story LED billboard tower lives in Miami Beach which has banned all billboards for many decades. Is he another carpetbagger who wants to rape Miami while retreating to his massive walled estate IN ANOTHER CITY?
