'Everglades Connections; the Tamiami Trail'

Celebrate the connections between the Everglades and The Kampong with art, workshops and a lecture.

From now through June 13, "Tamiami Trail: In the Beginning,” an exhibition of original works by members of the Miami-based tropical Botanic Artists will be featured at The Kampong.

On Thursday, May 28, from 6-8 pm, the Kampong features their Twilight Tour and Artist Reception. Watch the moon rise over Miami. Check out two art exhibits - Tropical Botanic Artists and the unveiling of Bao Wrap, a temporary art installation created around the largest Baobab tree at The Kampong by Johanna Boccardo, a Miami-based Venezuelan artist (shown here with her crew). It’s mango season, so they’ll have their famous Kampong mango rum punch.

June 13, 10 am is Kids Art Workshop by Maria Teresa D”Azucena. For children of all ages, learn how to use acrylics and paint the natural world around us.
