We have Choices in the Grove now
Every time we pass the old Masonic Temple/Flavour nightclub location, friends ask me what's going on there, no one seems to know. I do now.
Partners Jason Stephens and Ken O'Keefe, who own the building have informed me that two new businesses are going to take up residence there.
On the first floor, the Miami-based vegan chain Choices Organic Cafe will be opening up their newest location in early summer. To their knowledge, this is the first all-vegan restaurant in the Grove.
On the second floor, yoga guru Pablo Lucero will be opening up his first self-branded yoga studio. He currently teaches a couple of classes at Dharma Studio in the Grove, so he's a familiar face to the community.
This is very exciting news as this is what Coconut Grove needs. This is almost a return to the essence of the "real Grove."
Jason and Ken live in Chicago and visit the Grove part-time, they have a house in the North Grove. Next time they are in town, they will give me a tour of the location and I'll take some photos, but this is very exciting news as I would go out of my way to go to the Choices location off of Brickell and Coral Way.
"We really love Coconut Grove, and we consciously sought out businesses that we hope will improve and diversify consumer options while staying true to the Grove's unique charms," says Jason.
The location is 2895 McFarlane Road.
Interestingly enough, the last time I was at Choices with my friend Sandi, she brought up the subject to them about opening a location in Coconut Grove. They didn't seem keen on the idea at the time, I think they wanted to go north, but apparently Jason and Ken persuaded them on the Grove, which is a big bonus for us all.

Hooray! Choices is great, quick, healthy food and we've been waiting for more plant-based menu options in the Grove.
They recently opened a location on ponce in Coral Gables. They've been growing fast. They have another catering location on 27th ave and NW 7th st.
