We checked out the new Ms. Cheezious restaurant

I ran into someone the other day who I used to see every week at Coconut Grove Bank's Food Truck Friday. We started reminiscing about the good times we had, so many of the Grove's office workers would go out to the bank lot and it was a great way to meet new people and of course, enjoy some great food. We started talking about our favorite trucks, I think mine are Health Nut on Wheels and Ms. Cheezious. I don't think Ms. Cheezious missed a week being at Food Truck Friday.

Ironically, the next day, a friend called to say he was coming by to pick me up, we were going to Ms. Cheezious' new bricks and mortar location at 74th and Biscayne Blvd. So we went.

It was all the great stuff from their trucks in a nice, clean restaurant - we sat out back in a Key West-style patio area. Parking is free and the service was great. Some of the people who work there remember me from the Grove and they said they miss their weekly visits. They were here last during the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, they said.  Above, you can see waffles being made for their chicken and waffles special and at right, is the main bar.

One day the Grove will catch up with the rest of the world and we'll have food trucks again. Until then, take a trip up to Ms. Cheezious's restaurant,  is at 7418 Biscayne Blvd., it's right across from the Vagabond Motel. You know, those people who sold their air rights so that the Grove could be sold out to developers. Ironically, the new Grove buildings are being built in the very spot where the food trucks congregated on Fridays, the reason the food trucks had to vacate. Crazy, ironic twist.
