Sailing Club offering Spring Camp for kids

The Coconut Grove Sailing Club is offering their annual Spring Sailing Camp the week of March 23-27, during school spring break. Student sailor categories include  Beginner, Intermediate, Teen or Racing Level. US Sailing Certified Coaches teach children ages 6-17 basic sailing skills, knots, and boating safety.

Spring Camp begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm daily.

By the end of camp each beginner is able to single-hand a pram, know the names of all the parts of the boat, and know what to do if the boat capsizes. Sailors will be using the club prams, optimist, and lasers. These are single-handed boats used for pleasure sailing as well as competition.

Children currently enrolled in the Youth Sailing Spring Season continue developing and fine tuning their racing skills by completing new drills that their coaches implement.  Our goal is to  successfully race a triangle course by the end of Spring Break.

The cost starts at $275 and goes up to $325 for the week.

To sign up, please visit cgsc.org/springcamp or call 305-444-4571

The Coconut Grove Sailing Club is located at 2990 S. Bayshore Drive.
