Special wedding to take place during Arts Festival
Partners for almost 18 years, Elsie and Christina Ruiz, moms of 4-year-old daughter Meredith (shown here), will finally marry now that same-sex marriage is legal in Florida. But, it’s not the usual justice of the peace ceremony you see on the news. since H&H Jewels will be hosting the nuptials in a beautiful setting in a tent on South Bayshore Drive. A lavish reception will follow inside the jewelry store showroom on Main Highway. All this is being provided gratis to the couple – and will include stunning wedding bands by Furrer Jacot, delicious food by Sara Sharpe Catering, music, champagne, flowers by The Blonde Tulip, and, of course, hair and make-up for both brides – this provided by the other H, across the street neighbor Hair by Hisham.
H&H Jewels celebrates the freedom to marry. The jeweler has adopted a motto as a result of the new law – H&H is about ‘his and hers,’ ‘his and his,’ and ‘hers and hers.’ “We are honored and humbled that Elsie and Christina are letting us be a part of their special day,” said H Bredemeier. “After 18 years of being together, this occasion is huge and special beyond measure.”
