Wishbone art to raise money for the year
KROMA Gallery has been having workshops called the Wish Bone Fundraiser Workshop, all holiday season, the final one is Saturday, January 3.
The wishbone was believed to have magical powers in ancient times, allowing birds and dreams to fly.
All wishbone art (fercula, the proper name), will be showcased at the grand opening of KROMA's Black History Month exhibit, "The Beast." running from February 3 to 28.
Each wishbone at the exhibit will be installed and rain from the rafters in the hope that generous folk will come, donate and adopt a piece, poviding the lucky break they need to fund their programming agenda for the coming year.
The goal is to have 1000 wishbones.
The deadline for art has been extended to January 10, 2015, you don't have to be part of the workshops to enter. Admission is free. For the rules and more, please email art@kromamiami.com or call 305-576-6278 or 305-446-5150.
KROMA is located at 3670 Grand Avenue.
