Sack-it; new fast food in Coconut Grove

There's a new fast food place at CocoWalk called Sack-It. I met Ron Garcia, the manger, and some of his staff, they were all excited about Thursday night's opening. Here is the crew, with manager Ron, fourth from left.

Sack-It is in the location right on top of the grand staircase in the plaza area of CocoWalk.

They bill themselves as "A Fine Sandwich Company," and from the looks of the menu, I'd have to agree. From their menu, "Sack-It delivers artisan technique to unique recipes in a whimsical, pop art/comic inspired package."

From Asian influenced spicy chicken to roast beef dipped in oregano au jus to the house roasted Florida beets with truffled goat cheese, their menu is quite different. They also offer craft brewed beers and wine.

There's Roasted Miso Chicken ($8); Boars Head Parmesan Pesto Ham ($9); Seasoned 10 hour slow Roast Pork ($8) and lots more. Their juices include Pineapple Chunklets Vanilla Bean, Sugarcane Juice and Watermelon-Tomato Chunklets, Fresh Mint, Citrus Vinaigrette; Fireman Derek's Sea ($3).They also sell Mexican Coke, which many people love ($2) and many other drinks.

Wine starts at $6 per glass and goes up from there and $9 per bottle).

Their Craft Drafs are 14 oz. for $5, including Biscayne Bay Brewery Golden Ale, Blue Moon Belgian White, JWB Hop for Teacher IPA and Mahou 5 Estrellas. They also offer cans for $5 for craft and $4 for Corona, Coors Light and domestic beers.

Sack-It is open from 11:30 am to 11 pm on Friday and Saturday and 11:30 am to 10 pm Sunday through Thursday. For info: 305-774-0723.

If these guys had opened the shop in New York City, they would be all over television and making millions!
Miami finally has a, unique, gourmet, unpretentious and quick sandwich shop.
