CitiBikes are taking up valuable parking spaces
There's one space in Coconut Grove that I know of where the CitiBikes should be removed, that's in front of The Grove Spot, the new racks there are taking up two parking spaces. I remember when that area was an issue with taxi cabs hogging up all the spaces, it seems to always be an issue on Virginia Street in that area.
Coconut Grove Elementary School was accommodated by CitiBikes when they complained about losing parking on Matilda Street. I am assuming those are the bikes that ended up on Grand Avenue, across from the Mayfair.
I am suggesting that the bike racks in front of The Grove Spot be moved out of the parking spaces and into a better area where they are still easily accessible but not taking up parking.
On a better note: I am noticing that people are using the bikes, so that's a good thing.

Someone commented earlier that the bikes should have a rack at Milams and Fresh Market.
They should move them there.
I understand the theory that they are really for tourists, but it looks to me like they could use any business they can get.

5 beers at the Grove Spot: about 1000 calories = 2 hours on the blue bikes. Works out perfectly.
I would be interested in hearing why you want the bike ranks removed from in front of Grove spot. This article seems to be written for the purpose of saving specifically those parking spaces but you never once say why or explain why that spot is worse than any other spot. It is right in front of the Mayfair hotel and should get tourist use in that location.
I don't understand the tone of the sentence "so of course, the City Commission, namely Commissioner Marc Sarnoff is having them removed."
Is this sarcasm because in the next few paragraphs you go on to mention that the elementary was accommodated? Has Grove Spot or the residents of the Mayfair or the development across the street contacted the city or Sarnoff's office?
Put them on those useless sidewalk wedges on Commodore plaza, they have taken up several parking spaces, the only thing it is being used for now is as a bird poop station.
Just an observation: South Beach has the same bikes taking up parking spaces and the parking problem is worse over there. ... On the Grapevine, I like these threads where people go back and forth with opinions. I think it's the most interesting reading.
There are very few parking spots on that street. I pick up my produce from the Pilates place and have yet to park legally. I'm sure people dropping their kid off at that children's place can't find parking either. It's bad for business when people can't park, especially if they are just stopping for 5 minutes. There are never any spaces open. Now there are 2 less. There is another bike rack on the widened sidewalk on Grand one block away. That's makes more sense. Spread them out! Suggestions: Peacock Park, Myers Park, down by the Taurus.
Quit complaining, stop driving your cars
so much and walk or ride a bike.
You will feel better, see more and
may live longer.
" I pick up my produce from the Pilates place and have yet to park legally"
Why buy healthy produce, being inactive and probably obese always behind the wheel?
Save time, drive through fast food joints, you'll get to heaven much earlier than on a bike!

Oh! I get it now, you were trying to be funny!
Please keep it up. I don't know what this comment thread would do without your unique brand of humor.
I ride my bike all the time. The produce box is large and weighs 25 pounds. I have to use my car to pick it up. Why are people such assholes in this comment section.
