Celebrity bowling challenge for charity

Jon Jay, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, Miami native and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade alumnus, will host The Jon Jay FMSbonds Celebrity Bowling Challenge on Saturday, January 31. Proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade to support its many positive programs for thousands of area youth.  

Along with other Major League Baseball stars, Jay will bowl with attendees during the fun-filled fundraising event. The evening will include red carpet arrivals, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, exciting bowling matches and more. 

“We’re grateful that for the third consecutive year, Jon Jay is partnering with Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade for this wonderful community event,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. “With the efforts of individuals such as Jon, we continue to make a difference in the lives of many area youth.”  

“We’ve been thrilled by the enthusiastic response to this event, and we’re looking forward to raising even more funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade in 2015,” said Jay.

The event is from 6 to 9 pm at Splitsville Lanes at Sunset Place (5701 Sunset Drive).

6:15 p.m. Cocktails/hors d’oeuvres
6:45 p.m. Opening remarks/Bowling Challenge begins
8:45 p.m. Winners announced
9 p.m. Event concludes

Individual tickets: $475 per bowling team and $125 per person
