They're back . . .
Eastern Airlines returned to Miami on Friday, this video of their arrival is from their Facebook page. Their new 737-800 flew in for a big welcoming ceremony with a water canon salute at Miami International Airport. A special dedication was made to "The Spirit of Captain Eddie Rickenbacker," Eastern's most famous CEO from 1930 to 1965. This is one of 25 planes which will start off the airline again. At first charters will be flown and by the second quarter of 2015, commercial flights will start, the routes have not been announced yet.
Brings back so many memories. I flew Eastern more than any other airline back in the day.

I remember the day Eastern shut down, I was traveling through the Atlanta airport and was amazed to see an entire concourse empty with parked planes at most of the gates. Glad to see the brand back in action.
They probably have their sights on travel to Cuba
"The Spirit of Captain Eddie Rickenbacker" sounds like an old camp fire ghost story.
They should have named it "City of Miami" or "Spirit of Miami."
