Take 13 for Miami Short Film Festival

The Bare Character
The Red Carpet is ready to be rolled out for the 13th edition of the Miami Short Film Festival (MSFF) which will take place on December 5-12.

The Festival will officially get under way with a Kick-Off party on Thursday, December 4, at Segafredo Brickell at 9 pm and will gather sponsors, partners, filmmakers, media, and friends of the festival. The first screening on Friday, December 5, will begin with a Launching Red-Carpet Walk at 7 pm at Paragon Grove 13 in CocoWalk. There will be simultaneous daily screenings at both Paragon Grove 13 Theaters and the Miami Beach Cinematheque, followed by after-screening cocktails at a local venue in the Grove almost every day.

After much deliberation and a long Jury Night, MSFF selected an array of 90 internationally acclaimed short films (chosen out of 800 entries) representing over 30 countries from different genres such as Documentaries, Experimental, Fiction, Animation, etc. The films are divided into 14 conceptual themes such as: Limitless Creation, A Toast for the Journey, The Omnipresent Feeling, The Story We All Need To Tell, among others.

In addition to the screenings, MSFF is hosting an exceptional seminar with Vittorio Storaro: one of the most influential cinematographers in the world and a three time Oscar winner for films such as Apocalypse Now, Reds and The Last Emperor. The master class is called Writing With Light: A Double Impression Between Photography and Cinematography and will take place on Sunday, December 7, at 3PM at Paragon Grove 13 Theaters.

The festival will come to an end with a suspenseful Oscar-style awards ceremony on December 12, at 7 pm at Paragon Grove 13 in which the Best Short Film and winner for each category will be announced and shown to the audience. There will be a memorable closing night party toasting the success of the magnificent week of new cinematic discoveries just gone by.
