Small Business Saturday is tomorrow

Small Business Saturday is November 29, it's the fourth year for American Express' initiative which helps small mom and pop businesses get more customers. The day encourages people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, this is the fourth year for the event. The single day as grown and it's become a tradition.

Here in Coconut Grove, most of the businesses are small and one-of-a-kind and it makes sense to spend your money in the village at our local businesses. It's a great opportunity to find new stores and get great holiday gifts that you might not find elsewhere. The malls are great, but strolling the Grove on a Saturday and checking out the local shops is a great experience. Spend time shopping and then enjoy our local restaurants. Have you considered stopping in a small business like the Bookstore for coffee or hot chocolate, rather than your usual chain coffee shop? What about so many of the small boutiques for gifts this season?
