In the name of progress
They can't be too thrilled at Mr. Moe's, their sidewalk rocking tables are now firewood. The City removed them and looks like they destroyed them, in the name of progress. The tables were in the way, holding up the sidewalk renovation and I guess the City got tired of waiting for Moe's to remove them, so they took it upon themselves, not in a very neighborly way. But as you walk on the sidewalk, I think it looks better. It appears so much larger with out the large tables there and maybe regular bistro tables with umbrellas might work better. Maybe not.

With all due respect to John @ Mr. Moe's, several of the rockers were falling apart on their own.
In the words of poet Ogden Nash:
"Progress was a nice idea at one time, but it's gone on way too long."

Wow I can't believe they did that! I'm sure there were quite a few notifications from the city before this occurred.
In the name of vengeance!
This is not factual. The City and Mr. Moes agreed that the City would remove the tables in order to repair the sidewalk. They weren't holding up anything. They just waited until they were ready to work on that part of the sidewalk. The tables are being replaced with ones that fit with the new sidewalk configuration. There is no discord between the City and Mr. Moes, no drama, no vengeance. No Story.
Much like the 70's great "Progressive music" drastically deviated from it's original course, the Grove's alleged "progress" seems to be way too progre$$$ive these days.. dunno about Moes particular case, though. Sledge.
This was a vengeful act. And Ron, sign your name.

So I came to blog as I haven't been to it in a while and I see the same conspiracy theories, second hand rumors, and baseless speculation bandied about.
Well, today I went and spoke to people at Mr Moe's, who confirmed that they reached an agreement with the city, and in fact the city will be replacing the tables and seats. Seems good.
