City to maybe add police; your presence requested
There is a City Budget Hearing on Tuesday, September 9, at City Hall, where Coconut Grove residents plan on asking City leaders for the addition of 100 new police officers, you are encouraged to attend.
It's believed that bodies at the meeting will make a difference.
The Grove has experienced an eight year low in crime due to more police on the streets, thanks to the addition in 2013.
The City Commission voted unanimously to direct the City Manager to present them with a budget this month that adds 100 additional police officers to the Department.
The 100 new officers will be spread throughout the City of Miami, but the Grove will get its share.
The meeting is at 5:05 pm at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive.
