Freebee now buzzing around Brickell
South Beach has the electric car service, too.
I think Coconut Grove is too small for this service, but it would be cool to get people from the Grove to Brickell using this service since we cannot get the city trolley to come through Coconuty Grove, but again, we didn't get enough signatures on the petition, so I'm assuming people didn't want the trolley and perhaps would not want this service either. I think it's great though. I think people in Coconut Grove prefer to scrounge for parking spaces and then pay for parking, rather than have these free services. Appears that way, anyway.
Some quotes from Sobe Yelp users, I'm sure the Brickell set-up will have the same reactions:
"SO CHILL! What's better than a free ride all over South Beach. You call them or flag one down. We caught a ride with Steve. He said to call him Stevie freebee. Haha. He was a character. Had us laughing and he was jamming his music while dancing and driving. He offered us free coconut water."
"You call, you get in an electric car, you zoom around, you listen to your favorite music as loud as possible, you arrive. Oh, and it's free. The drivers get by on tips If you need to get somewhere in a hurry from South Pointe to 23rd Street, you want to look here. Despite their being approximately 2956295 taxis clogging up the streets of South Beach, getting one to stop for you that has a credit card reader or any interest in doing his job in a considerate manner... it's hard. Go for the electric car."
"If you have ever been in a cab in Miami you know things can get a little sketchy from cab to cab. No fear! A new way to get around on the beach! FREEBEE. Not only is the ride free but sometimes they have other freebies likes Coconut water available for you! These electric powered golf carts on steroids come with a sick sound system, friendly driver and fit 5 passengers per cart. The rides are all free and they specialize on short routes on the beach - from 1st to 41st. The driver plugs in his phone and pumps out music as you whiz by pedestrians, wind blowing in your face."

I did not see the petition( would sign) but seems so logical. I think there should be a trolley system though out Miami. Coral Gables to Grove to Brickell and back.. it would be so great for the community and our visitors. I wished for this for years. Trolly to Trolly and then use the local trams/ movers or this cool new jitney service. And a safe taxi ride home. Love it.
Forget about getting anything done in Coconut Grove since our "representative" insists on destroying and building the Grove in his own image.
We used this in Miami Beach two months ago and loved it. It's perfect for the Grove. If enough of us call to convince them to put a few of them here (and then use them), they might give it a try.

Interesting perspective. Would you mind enlightening the readers as to which part of the Grove has been destroyed and which part altered into "his own image."
Just curious.
7:44 Duh?!!!
1-Playhouse is still closed
2-Forcing clubs & bars close early
3-Discouraging the youth from visiting Grove.
4-Raising fees and costs for businesses: BID & Parking
5-Doing nothing to improve parking nor access for commerce.
6-Favoritism toward businesses that support one official
7-Reopening, expanding, manicuring and improving dog parks yet neglecting and keeping other parks closed.
9-Installing a traffic circle and blocking access from Virginia Street to and from Grand Avenue to please a politician when the fire department disaproved due to access to and from the neighborhood's fire department by fire trucks.
10-lack of connection to trolly system, yet other municipalities are invited and shamefully encouraged to do their trolley's dirty and hazardous work in an impoverished residential part of Coconut Grove.........
...do you have time for a complete list that proves the neglect is designed to drive people and businesses away. The representative does not represent the majority of businesses and people, the representative dreams of a jungle of concrete highrises.
I'm looking fwd to the 10 rebuttals that very poignant Top 10 list! Saint Sarnoff supporters should just continue to keep their heads buried.
I like His Holiness better than Saint and the supporters are the disciples.

I'm not going to give a point by point rebuttal--which is pointless, you have your opinions and hopefully exercised them in the last election-- but you've obviously confused the powers of a commissioner with those of a Soviet era commissar.
While the national Tea party blames Obama for everything, the Grove Tea party blames Sarnoff. Absurd.
And if there is any doubt, the fact that he is prepping his wife to take over his position smells of rotten fish.

Soviet or not, Sarnoff did support building of the toxic trolly garage next to black residents.
*wakes up in the middle of the night, stubs toe on end table, blames Sarnoff.
(What happens to some of the chronic Sarnoff commenters on any given day)
Is discussing His Holiness about his official capacity considered blasphemy?
*5:09 walks outdoor in bathing suit and sunscreen. It starts to rain.
blames Sarnoff.
