Coconut Grove Bike tour features Hurricane History
The BID's monthly bike tour of Coconut Grove is back on Saturday, August 9. The free bike tour highlights the Grove's Hurricane History this month. Travel the shady lanes of Coconut Grove viewing historic homes, colorful wildlife and a spectacular collection of tropical foliage.
This tour highlights the hurricane history of the area. See how these great storms determined the progress and character of the Grove. As you ride, find out how some of the indigenous flora, such as gumbo-limbo, royal palm, wild orchids and many other plants are adapted to, and are present here as a result of hurricanes.
The tour starts at 9 am and goes until 11:30 am. Meet in front of City Hall (3500 Pan American Drive), please bring sunscreen, water and of course your own bike. Try to be there by 8:50 am.
