Travel professionals spend time at SALM

A group of 325 travel industry professionals called Shake-A-Leg Miami (SALM) home in an effort to give back to our community, as part of its Tourism Cares for Miami restoration event. Volunteers gathered for their opening reception sponsored by the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and then got to take in the majestic scenery along Biscayne Bay.

During their three-day visit, a group of families rolled up their sleeves to beautify SALM's island, just in time for summer camp, as part of the first-ever Tourism Cares Family Volunteer Day. The participants also helped beautify the iconic Miami Marine Stadium and completed planting projects at the historic Virginia Key Beach Park and North Point Beach Habitat.

Tourism Cares, whose mission is to preserve and enrich the travel experience for future generations, sent a heartfelt thanks to Shake A Leg Miami and all of the organizations and supporters that helped to make this work possible. This event was sponsored by the Visitors Bureau.
