Submit an art project proposal to FEAST Miami
This sound like a great thing for FAM Night (Fashion, Art and Music), here in the Grove.
The second FEAST Miami will be held at Emerson Dorsch Gallery on Sunday, August 3rd at 6 pm. Diners will give a minimum donation for dinner and the opportunity to fund an exciting art project. At the first FEAST Miami, diners funded Exile Books with a grant in the amount of $2,750 for a temporary installation of an artist’s bookstore that will migrate throughout several locations in Miami.
FEAST Miami was created through the support of Knight Foundation’s Knight Arts Challenge to bring food and art together to create community. The proposals submitted on July 3 will be scored by a selection committee made up of art professionals and the top five applicants will be invited to present at the dinner. Diners will then vote for the project to be funded. Projects should be innovative, feasible and impact the community.
Applications are available at feastmiami.org.
Inspired by the food sustainability movement, FEAST will provide community-based sustainability for the arts. The meals will be healthfully prepared with organic and locally-sourced foods. FEAST Miami was founded by Chef Loren Pulitzer of Meals That Heal and curator/producer Susan Caraballo. It was inspired by F.E.A.S.T. Brooklyn organized by artists. It is made possible through the support of John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Knight Arts Challenge that funds ideas that help bring South Florida together through the arts.
