Third Annual Police Junior Olympics

The City of Miami police are holding the Third Annual Police Junior Olympics. This is a great half-day event that's really a lot of fun. Three local elementary schools compete by enlisting the 5th graders from each school. The students spend the day competing in Olympic-style events. These images are from the 2011 Olympics.

The event is Wednesday, May 28 from 10 am to 1 pm at Armbrister Park (4000 Grand Avenue); right on Grand before you arrive at US1. The students receive gold, silver and bronze medals and the whole event is really done very professionally.

Additional bleachers have been added to this year to accommodate everyone. There is food, too and really it's an all around fun time.

The three schools competing are Coconut Grove Elementary, FS Tucker Elementary and George Washington Carver Elementary.
