Just a few more days to sign trolley petition

The Petition to bring the City Trolley through the Grove is coming to its end, April 30, 2014 is the last day to sign it. We've gotten a nice bunch of signatures at the petition at the Bookstore, shown here. It's on the cafe counter in a purple folder, if you would like to stop by and sign it in person.

Online, the petition is here.

Not many people have signed the petition online, more have signed it in person, I'm not sure why. I'm also surprised that many Grove businesses and restaurants, and even the BID and Village Council have not pushed the petition on their websites, newsletters or social media as a trolley service will literally bring more people to the Grove to spend money in the local businesses. There's nothing controversial about it, even our District Commissioner Marc Sarnoff signed the petition.

Hopefully we can get a big push before Wednesday, the last day to sign. Either way, I'll take the online and written petitions to the county and we can go from there. Apparently the county is in favor of our current Circulator and they do not want to change it out for a trolley. I know it's basically the same thing, although you pay to use the Circulator, but studies have shown that people prefer a trolley (or trolley-looking thing) to a bus.

Excellent proposal. Need this.

Now, if we can just get them to install those surveillance cameras on the trolley, LOL.

This is definitely a great way to bring more people and tourist dollars to Coconut Grove. I just signed the petition. It is puzzling that Grove business have been mostly silent on this petition, many are probably not aware of it.
